Champion All Black fullback of the 1940s and 50s Bob Scott celebrates his 89th birthday today, still achieving success in competitive sport.

Scott this week played at three in the winning four at the annual rugby bowls tournament at Mt Maunganui. He has played the event since it started 19 years ago but it was the first time he has won the main prize, the Peter Johnstone Memorial Trophy.
